numpty
Checked on some rape stubble last Thursday/Friday and even though the rain was heavy there were enough pigeon present to make it worth while shooting on Saturday as the weather looked fine and as I have sole permission I knew they would not be touched. The pigeon wanted a patch of rough ground in which grew a mixture of Mares Tail, self set wheat and OSR about 70 yards off a middle hedge and a handy sitty tree and with the wind coming from the tree, so setting up there was a given. 16 HH Decoys set on the rape stalks, flapper set among them just in from the pattern and a magnet to the right just out from the tree completed the set up and birds came in from the off. As the gun shop has non of my usual RC20's he did a deal on some Lyalvale Express Supreme Comp 28gram 7 and a half shot that I thought would suit my Berretta 20 bore and they did! 11 birds missed in the whole bag, with one pricked bird, definitely down to the cartridge. Two hours in 3 motor bikes appear and started using the edge of the field as a race track, coming past my hide at around 40mph shouting at me, only the next time round I was ready for them and flagged them down telling them it was private ground but the reply was a torrent of abuse and on they went. A chum was to far away to help as was the local gamekeeper so I endured an hour and a half of what sounded like a chainsaw on steroids tearing up the countryside. As soon as they went it was business as usual and sport was resumed. Ended with 62 picked in four and a half hours which included one very unusual wood pigeon, the like of I have not seen despite shooting tens of thousands of birds and buying them as a Gamedealer! One really beautiful bird and I wonder if anyone else has come across one so white and pink?

Underdog
That is a striking bird, idiots on bikes, I get some of them. Tend to be yobs that don't want to work to pay for a proper scrambling meet! Usually beer involved too.
WelshMike
Stunning bird indeed. Sounds like a good day despite the fools on bikes, well done mate.

Thank you Aga man, as its in perfect condition, and cost permitting, it would be nice to have it set up by a taxidermist.
marsh man
As for your pigeon with the White feathers , Yes I have seen them over the years , and with more White feathers on than the one you shot , in fact the game dealers ( Frost Game ) showed me one that they had in there fridge, that was nearly pure White apart from the odd grey feather in its tail .
