Dekers
Ok, a few years back I shot a fox with BLUE eyes (lamping reflected), it was the first I had ever seen, that was on an estate is Surrey, on Monday I shot another, only the second I had ever seen, this was in Berkshire. This is obviously a rather unusual event, and it seems that many have never even heard of Blue eyed fox, let alone seen one. Has anyone got any idea what this is about? steve_b_wales
I lamped one many years ago, and thought at first that it was a dog, because when the lamp shone on it, the eyes were pale blue in colour. It was sitting by the side of a stone wall and appeared to be eating something. Getting closer to it, I identified it as a fox and shot it. This was the first and last one I have seen. foosa
Nope, never seen blue eyes on a fox under the lamp, and I've seen thousands! Usually differing shades of orange/yellow through to green but never blue. I've seen two with eyes that didn't reflect any light, checked them out after and they looked normal healthy eyes but no eye shine? I wonder if the blue eye thing although rare could be genetic to your area, I notice colour pattern similarities in different areas I shoot?
