Do you have to send a photocopy of your current certificate where applying for a renewal? Says a copy or original(surely I'll need to keep the original? ) can't remember this from before, also had a call from doctors asking for my permission for them to give police information, can't remember that before either.

They got in touch with my doctor on last renewal but I was never told,

I saw it on screen during a medication review,

Obviously went through with no problems,

Doesn't bother me as I have nothing to hide, it would have done if I had been charged for anything though

In North Wales you can send either. I sent the original and thought I had bought enough cartridges to see me through till my renewal came through. I was wrong and phoned them up to ask their advice, I received my original back the next day and went out and bought a fresh supply of cartridges and new gun. They also sent me out a temporary permit (valid for 12 months) when I asked as my SGC was dew to run out at the end of that week.

As for them contacting your GP, there is a section on the form that you sign giving the GP permission to disclose information to the police. Not sure why your GP has phoned if you haven't sent the form off yet ???

They are new forms that came out either last year or early this year.

Hope this helps

They brought it in for you to get a certificate off your doctor to prove you arnt a loon it cost me £25 and when the police come a week later they said there have scraped that.so it's cost me £100 for renewal instead of £65 for the pair

The doctor got it wrong there then :) . you are a nutter :) . There has been a load of stuff about this on here. You paid the £50 for nothing because if they want to ask the quack something it is down to them. they dont want to spend out on it so they conned you into spending out.
