Old Boggy
Having picked several pounds of morello cherries from my two trees this year and still left plenty for the blackbirds, I wish to try something different from the usual cherry brandy. Has anyone any experience of using gin, whiskey or whatever as an alternative ? Many thanks

Outlander
Give them all a try you never know , and if you need an independent assessment I am more than willing to try them for you. Outlander
JamesMoody3
Cherry vodka does sound delicious. I must admit I do like my flavoured vodka, I (did) have a bottle of grapefruit belvedere, now that is something else! And then after you've finished the vodka, use the cherries in a dessert, something rich like a bitter chocolate fondant or tart. Or purée them down and make a boozy sorbet! Thunderbird
Another vote for cherry vodka (or gin would work). Isn't there something you have to watch with cherry stones though?

Thunderbird
Perhaps. Probably something my mum once said.

You just have to stone the cherries, or avoid eating more than 4oz of crushed stones ...... apparently
