Any arborists / tree surgeons on here?

I'm quickly coming 'round to the thought that I've yet to find my true calling :/

I spent 5 years at collage learning to be a mechanic - then, after a couple of years in the job, I decided it wasn't for me

Then I was a window fitter for a bit,

then a powder coater

then a welder

and then (now) a lorry driver, but I'm sick of it after 8years

So, I've been thinking about what else I think I might enjoy and tree surgery's one that really seems to stand out - however, it's not something I know anything much about. All I've got really is I cut a large lime down in my parent's garden years ago with a cheap electric chainsaw, including climbing it and limbing it (if that's even the right term?) and gradually working my way down - I thoroughly enjoyed the whole job but I'm sure it's not all as enjoyable.

Other than that, all I can say is I've a head for heights and enjoy being outdoors.

So, any thoughts or help in any way would be much appreciated; pros & cons or info about the job itself and what I'm letting myself in for etc etc :good:

Phone round your local companies and see if you can do a day or two unpaid or cheaply to see if you enjoy it. No point in shelling out a load of cash for tickets to find you don't like the job. Where in the world are you guessing I'm to far away or I'd give you a day or two

Depends how old you are any experience do you have any current tickets for chainsaws or climbing I'm a arborist

Like I said, next to none at all, I do a little rock climbing in my spare time but that's about it. I've already spoken to the local collage that has the relevant course and got a rough idea of cost.

I suppose having a go was a bit obvious but I suspect it'd be a somewhat diluted version of what it's really like because of insurance worries etc, that's not to say I won't ask around though.

Sorry if it's something that comes up a lot, I'm afraid I don't get to spend much time on here these days :unhappy:
