kyska
Nothing was said about things being done wrong, the problem was getting a visit from someone who hadn't done one before. Every person who carries out home visits has to have a first visit. And they should be trained and competent in their job, like the rest of us. Luckyshot
And they should be trained and competent in their job, like the rest of us. So who would you have used to train the first feo on the first ever visit, like toontastic says everyone has to start somewhere.
silver pigeon69
How on earth is anybody ever going to do anything in life if they don't do it for the first time, every feo's career has had to start with a first visit. Maybe he should of been mentored!!
norfolk dumpling
My last visit was by a guy who said he was ex-firearms and a shotgun owner but his questioning about safety was embarrassingly childish and laborious. SWMBO was giggling behind him. I rather cut him off by saying that ours was actually the safest sport in the country as we went out of our way not to kill one another whereas in his old job he was trained to do the opposite! kyska
So who would you have used to train the first feo on the first ever visit, like toontastic says everyone has to start somewhere. What do you mean? If a new FEO is let loose, then as with so many other jobs they should be mentored for competence, and once deemed fit for independent lone working then so be it. Are you asking about the very first ever FEO? If so, thats academic, because it isn't the case nowadays. This lack of knowledge and the misinterpretation of the laws that we so often hear about on this and other sites is indicative of fragmented or poor training. I have to do this all the time at work, training people to work within and make higher function decisions, I for one, wouldn't let anybody loose in my workplace without 100% confidence that were capable of doing the tasks properly, certainly not with gaping holes in knowledge critical to the vocation. bostonmick
I see no value in a fao having to be an active shooter.they are there to administer the rules and regulations as defined by the home office.I believe that a more desirable attribute would be that they be unbiased.
