malkiserow
I am feeling oh so lucky, I was given the use of a BMW i8 and 2 test tracks ..... one for high speed and the other an Alpine road with all the drops/rises/hairpin bends, a full tank, a full charge and an ask not to trash it. ..... but thrash it is OK !!! OMG I am in love, it was an amazing car, 0 to 60 in 4.4 and cornering like it was on rails, got some air underneath on the hill tops and drove her flat out, I never got my own car tyres so hot as this i8 !!. It was a groin-tingling unforgettable time. Here she is all in one piece and on the ground.......

malkiserow
Sounds a real buzz. who is the guy in the first picture looking at the grey car? Buzz is the word...... I was on a high for the rest of the day. That i8 was something else...... never driven anything like it. At the apex where one of the James Bond movies was filmed with a car barrel roll I got her airbourne and that felt special.... especially when I landed safely !! It was nice to play like this on private test tracks. It was Millbrook in Bedfordshire. Saw some nice other kit about there to including the new Unimog

FalconFN
I get it, you're a 'green' grocer so you sell gear to kids in your 'manor'. I can see why you like flashy beemers now.

I also get free paracetamol

malkiserow
Had a gander at one in Milton Keynes a few weeks back, something along the line of 300+ hp from combined electric and engine power....... Engine was just a 1.5ltr!!! Looks awesome Bang on Sir, a 1.5 ltr 3cylinder petrol. It also has a loud noise "experience" inside so when you put it in sport mode and floor it (which I did as often as I could !!!) it really does make a great roar even though the electrics are really silent. I used the banked test circuit and floored it just to feel that supercar experience, at 4.4 seconds from 0 to 60 it was really good fun. It is the electric which really turns it into a respectable sportscar.. I've done faster on bikes and specialised track cars but never on a road car. It is hard to convey the feeling it gives you when you know the handling and brakes are so good and easy to use. It can drive just like a mild mannered family car if you can restrain yourself. norfolk dumpling
Afew years back - pre-retirement - one of our corporate partners treated 20 of us to a day at Silverstone: - go carts - precision driving in 2.7 Caterhams ('precision'?? 30 senonds before I put it off the track) - Formula Fords on F1 course. Here we were chasing a race trainer, a very pretty lass from Scandinavia who drove like a lunatic! - Caterhams again but driven by a professional driver - a couple of lasses from our company refused to go out in this car! - Peugeot 206 GT6 on F1 course accompanied by a race trainer - Pug but on a rally course - here my pretty rally tutor had both brake and petrol control!! - as above but she drove me around the course - though I was going to die on first bend. Still brings back smile or two.
