saddler
Have I missed something as the OP as for a 2-7/8" case load so how are you going to fit a 3" load in !!!!! The joys of asking on forums for load data! You'd OBVIOUSLY need a bigger hammer - make it all fit in the case = job done For 2 7/8" though - unless the load was light I'd think it'd be best sticking to published lead loads & keeping the steel loads for the untrimmed 3 1/2" hulls
Old farrier
Hi Tried a few steel loads for 2.7/8 all not very good sadly just don't fit Could be why it's a obsolete caliber / chamber length 😙 As above Load with lead The crow gets it every time All the best Of

You could use a gas seal and a 12 bore wad. It's something I do ,like having an Mossy

Easy for you to say, if one of us loses a couple of fingers coz of a high pressure load we'd be stuffed - you Norfolk chaps have extra fingers to spare - so keep the overpressure loads for your relatives to try
kent
I think you need published data if it exists with an expected pressure Not saying Internet advice is bad on these matters in all cases but how do you judge
