New lamp project

well I have been very quiet as of late! And decided it was time to try something different!

I bought a few bottles of Ale a few week back, whence supping I had a brain storm! These ere bottles look mighty retro I thought to myself!

I decided there and then I was going to make something from them!

Now this was a bit of a nightmare, but I got there! I had to drill the rear lip of the bottle near the base to act as a grommet holder and pass the wire through, I broke a few bottles trying this but hey ho, I am new to this so expect some wastage!

Next nightmare was trying to work out how to secure the bayonet on top of the bottle???

I tried a cork  not a chance!

I tried epoxy again not a chance :(

Then I remembered I had a bottle capper somewhere :hmm:

I adapted the capper to allow for the threaded tube in a bottle cap and hey presto!

I drilled out a cap to 10mm and made a pigs ear! Then another pigs ear! If I keep making pig parts David Cameron may pay me a visit

Anyhoo I decided drilling wasn't an option so how about a punch? I found a old tripod part in the cupboard (they are full of useless junk) and drilled the centre thread out to 10mm and used a 10mm roof bolt as the punch! Perfect :wahey:

Assembly can now ensue!

And there you have it! Now I need to get some vintage style lamp flex which I found online at about £2 per foot inc postage! And some vintage style plugs and chandelier style shades and I am set :D
