kennett
Had my last day on pigeons today before I get cracking on Keepering and beating every weeknd until February! And what a day it was! The last field of wheat in the county I would guess, left behind due to weather and combine breakdowns, on the edge of a village and a few miles from Newmarket, so a good supply of birds. Perfect day of sun and a good breeze, set up early and got cracking, a couple of hide moves and some pattern changes saw us on 60 for lunch. Then at 2ish it went mental and when the combine turned up at half 3 and we packed up to pick the kids up, we had racked up 181,a partridge, and a jay! What an end to a year, roll on November 7th and some pheasants! Edited September 30, 2015 by kennett
Redditch
My farmers have only JUST got the last of the fields in yesterday (barley and wheat), and one farmer had his own combine plus 3 hired combines and drivers going. The weather has been very bad here, so we're glad of a few days dry weather finally. Now waiting on them to plough and sow the winter crops, and might yet get another 2-4 weeks of shooting the corvids and pigeon Then there's the ducks, rabbits, and foxes to do, so busy busy busy
