After our successful night out midweek getting four fox, bumpy and I thought we'd take a walk around my mates farm.

It's quite sizable with a free range chicken unit, a few beef cattle, a good size dairy herd about 100 ewes and some arable.

To be honest, whatever you want to shoot, with four legs or two and wings is there.

Being so close to mine, about 1/4 of a mile, I find it so easy to get to that for the last 10 years, have shot it with conservation in mind.

I presume that's why there is plenty on it, today we scouted a few grounds and went down to the orchard. As I went through the hedge there was a doe about 50yds away, we watched each other for about 10 seconds (she wasn't worried about me to much) until I saw a squirrel and shot it. she took off quite quickly then  .

Coming away from the orchard we returned to the chicken shed, whilst stood in a tree cover area we saw about five or six lots of duck numbering about 40 I suppose. This was about 4 o'clock so we decided to set up with steel and see if we could get a couple, as bumpy had to be home for half 5.

Half an hour later and we had enough, 3 each, so let the rest stay for another day. We've been lucky this week so we thought we'd have a bash for a buck tomorrow morning to see if our luck holds.

During the week I got to within 20yds of two button bucks and they had no clue, so I backed of and went home, so it could be promising!

Enough from me thanks for reading
