JohnGalway
Seen her in the flesh and it's quite the job for close foxes and winged vermin out to 150 I reckon, great rifle
Dave-G
Good choice Conor. Looks like a full length barrel - which explains the need for a sling? Mine has a 15" barrel which I usually carry by it's pistol grip - muzzle down. I have been pestered into getting a sling for when my brother uses it - he has a 19" barrel Annie, which is also quieter because the powder is still burning in the moderator of a 15" one apparently. Can you leave that scope on between barrel changes? I just got the new 30mm tube Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x50 side focus yesterday on mine. At about 13.5" long there is just enough room to fit the barrel below the front objective between changeovers using high mounts. Using an Elite 3200 10x40 (12.5" long) - with the HMR zero'd at 35/135yds, and the turrets set at zero, I had to dial up to number 9 (36 clicks) on the elevation turret to get my .22 zero at 60 yards. Windage was unchanged. This seems to be repeatable within hunting limits. I'm expecting similar results with the new 4200 - so all I should have to remember is 0 for the HMR and +9 for the .22. By my calculations - as a matter of interest and subject to eventually trying it on a tall target board - this roughly shows .22 subs POI is about 15" lower than HMR's at 100 yards, .22 needing two mildots of holdover and given that the 17 grainer will be almost an inch high at the 100 yard mark.
