martindd
Had his first day on Saturday,so much to think about but he did brilliantly. I only took 3 shots on our little rough shoot and bagged 2 pheasants, first one picked by another guns dog!but the second one he flushed a hen out of the hedge sat immediately, and I shot it,he waited and fetched it when I told him to,what a feeling.. Later he showed interest in some woods where I told him to leave, then the guy behind said there was a bird in that was earlier shot,so I sent him in and he found and retrieved a live hen. It was such a great feeling watching all the time spent training paying off, hard to describe, never stopped smiling Saturday night. Farcombehall
That's great, how old is he, I am just training my first gundog a cocker and he's nearly 8 months old now and the feeling when they do something right is great so you must be over the moon. I know I have a long way to go but all the hard work at the end is so rewarding.
