Which tablet for business?

Can anyone offer advice on a tablet? I'm looking to use it primarily for business. I like the idea of one with a keyboard as the on screen keyboards just seem totally naff. I like the idea of the Windows Surface Pro 4 but I hear the battery isn't too great so I'd like some honest, unbiased advice. Ok, I can get an in car charger to compensate for that or one of those booster packs so that wouldn't be a drastic issue I suppose.

The main thing I'm looking to use it for will be invoicing clients electronically so G4 is a must so I can email them their invoice on completion. I also want to use internet banking on it so decent protection is a must. I tend to use Kaspersky on my laptop and mobile and never had any issues with it but unless someone knows that it conflicts with a certain tablet over another then I'd like to hear about it.

I think that's about it. As always, thanks in advance.

I have the surface pro and love it. It does everything you want and more it can be a tablet or fully blown laptop capable of running high memory programs, the keyboard detaches nicely. No need to go mad with the hard drive space to keep the price down, just add a memory stick if you need it. Battery lasts well but depends on how much you use it I suppose.

Why not a laptop?

I have a laptop and find it a real pain. It's the HP Envy. I would rather have an Acer but hey-ho.

Anyway, I've done a bit of digging. Went to PC World yesterday and spoke to the geeks in there. Unfortunately the first guy I spoke to said it was his first day and didn't really know his stuff (encouraging). One of his mates wandered over and tried to sell me a Mi-Fi device saying I needed it if I didn't have tethering enabled on my contract. Even if I did it could be quite expensive... blah, blah, blah! I left after I asked him why that would serve me better than my phone or even be cheaper and he couldn't answer me. Muppet!

As it turns out, there are precious few that have sim card slots, which kind of strikes me as strange. I don't really want an ipad. I'll have a little mooch on it but thanks for the recommendation Aaz. How do you connect yours to the internet?

I connect to the web via using my mobile as a hotspot or my mi-fi device which is great and offers brilliant 4g speeds pretty much everywhere I am, I use a pay as you go data sim on EE or Three, just get 1gb or 2gb cards, both of these I have found to offer the best coverage and I travel a lot widely throughout the south east. No need to have a sim card slot built in!

Wife has Asus transformer pad. It has a detachable keyboard which also gives you more battery life. Hers is one of the first ones so she needs to use her phone for internet. I think it tethers by Bluetooth. It has slots for memory cards and a usb connection.

The newer models might have built in slot for a SIM card, I'm not too sure.

Overall she's very happy with it and has taken it to many business meetings around the world.

The latest surface pro by a mile, you can use it with or without the keypad , its wafer thin and light but works like a dream, just a bit pricey !:yes:

what he said!

I have the Pro3 and it's been brilliant for uni. It's not just document writing, i use it for complex statistical analysis, for global imaging software of high resolution mapping, as well as all the usual boring office use stuff.

can't fault it.

Hmmm... Maybe I'll look at a Mi-Fi device for the laptop, even though it is a tad cunbersome, it will be cheaper than a tablet. It will only be to send invoices from site so I will probably get away with a 1gb.

Have a look at the Huawei mi-fi devices wouldn't call them cumbersome.
