rsrjerry
Hi all My 17 hmr as developed a problem When I want to eject either a spent or unspent shell it won't let go and I have to pick it out ? It's never been a problem and usually when bolt pulled back it just flys out . Anyone had same problem ? And if so what's the remedy please
telf
is there any **** on the ejector claw, failing that there is a fix to file some of the face off the claw so it can grab hold of the case better
Rimfireboy
First I'd remove the extractors and give them a clean as well as the slots that they seat in, as they can get gummed up with powder fouling. Make a note of which one goes on which side as they're slightly different to each other.

Rimfireboy
If the extractors are stiff, they may not release easily. Had a similar problem with mine some years ago and a strip and clean solved it. Can't say it's that for sure, but it's worth a go. Only takes a few minutes. walt1980
I've got the same rifle, 1517, mine will do it it I don't pull the bolt back properly. You have to pull it back firmly against the stop, if you pull it slowly mine will hold the case out at 45 degrees but not pop it out! Give it a clean as well, it can't hurt! Mine does the same, ok if pulled back sharply though. Edited December 10, 2015 by Thegogg
walt1980
To be fair it's handy to not have it ping out sometimes, I've got 2 empty cases in the heater vents on my truck!
