High Pheasant Guns

Beretta 682 Supersport (1987 vintage) 30" multichoke but I find 1/2 choke great for everything but extreme (50m+) paired with 32g 5s. The gun fits, is weighty enough but not silly heavy and I'm 6ft. I often surprise people who make assumptions about a younger person (often a lowly beater too) with a plain boring black clay gun.

It might bring down extreme pheasants but I haven't had the chance to really test it on these sorts of birds.

The gun fit and pairing to size and shooting style of the owner is critical - I also own and shoot an heirloom s/s and a hatstand s/a and shoot **** in comparison with these guns.

687 Lightweight game, 28 inch, 1/2 + 3/4, 30gr VIP 5s. Killed 2 birds last week at around 70 yards clean as a whistle. Often take birds in excess of 50 yards, not far for some but a long way on a normal game shoot. I am fortunate to shoot in a glaciated valley so there are occasional 50 -70 yard birds on about half the drives.
