6.5x55SE
Having been up several mornings early trying to catch up on my Deer Cull or Wildfowling if the weather did not suite Deer Stalking I told Conor we would give this morning a miss as he is now on Holidays and would have hopefully plenty of chances of Shooting a Goose also a rising Moon. The early mornings had the apposite effect as I was wide awake instead of being dead to the world hearing a bit of wind I woke Conor stating we will have a look !!!!!! With the Guns was his reply. Yes but don't expect nothing. I was proud when he said Beat's laying in bed and you can't see the world and nature with closed eyes. To be honest apart from being proud I was a bit shocked. After a good walk in the fast lighting dawn I found suitable cover settled the two Lab's to watch the world awake when Conor's now familiar PINK'S I saw a ragged bunch pass well left quickly followed by another bunch. Hurriedly we moved position again Conor's PINK'S these was bang on but in spite of the wind was killable just. When they was probably 70 yrds off I said to Conor if you miss with the first DON'T fire the second !!!! I smiled as Conor said can I try can i try Grandad . Okay take Em my one Shot folded a Pink hearing Conor's shot I turned hearing him shouting YES Yeees I've got TWO as I had only heard one Shot no we got one each rather disgruntled Conor say's I shot twice Stuffed two Pink's look Barnie an Fallow ( lab's names ) have one each the other lays there sure enough I was out Shot by my 15 year old Grandson.. By the time we had settled again a flight of flights developed with Geese passing left right and over us many out of range odd ones very low but a good few offering similar chances. The next shootable bunch it got worse for me as I cleaned missed with my two shot's only to hear THUMP good boy Fallow unbelievable Conor's one Shot one Pink. Right smarty Pants.see how you do with this lot not saying a word I watched Conor let a Skien suddenly turn up with his Gun and kill a single Pink coming on the wind I honestly could not believe what I was seeing. Having just shot my sixth Pink I sleeved my gun and walked to pick a distance faller whilst walking back I had seen Conor shoot another double but as more Geese passed no shooting !!!!! As I got closer I saw Conor had sleeved his Gun and hid watching the Pink's Skien after Skien passing over. As I congratulated him on fantastic controlled shooting he said Sorry Grandad !!!!! Confused I asked sorry for what " I shot eight " laughing I said so you can tell everyone you Wooped my Butt. Deep down I knew exactly what he ment and how he felt as I still remember the morning many years ago I did the same to my Father . On the way home I called to use my Father's plucking machine and whilst the Geese was prepared my Father relived and told Conor the Tale of the morning at Wigtown Bay I out Shot him. Fingers crossed in the not to distance future I can get Conor myself and Father each shooting a Goose from the same Skien

m greeny
Fantastic now that would be awsome if 3 generations of family could just go out shooting together never mind all shooting geese out of the same skien. Well done
