secretagentmole
Does not show the scandal about fly tipping concrete from the bridge construction into the river though....
Bigbob
The old bridge lasted fifty years with British steel how long will the new bridge last with Chinese steel ? Why did they not build a tunnel the weather would never close it . Then why no have four lanes on each side only using two then if there's a crash or breakdown you could close those two and open the other two For the main road to the north the forth road bridge has been a embaressment
Davie_M
A tunnel under the forth would be interesting with all the mine workings already down there Edited December 31, 2015 by Davie_M
Nial
Engineering at its best. what will happen to the old bridge They're leaving it to carry public transport and possibly freight (after they fix the truss end links properly). lister22
I like to judge a bridge after it has stood the test of time not before it is finished the present bridge i believe takes much more traffic than it was designed for
Bigbob
Living on the Fife side the forth estuary running it where a joke they stopped all the cars so four cars from knock hill could get there photos taking in the middle of the bridge overlooking the rail bridge. A nice back handler for the bridge master ? . Then they stop all the cars in the middle of the day to let wide loads across surely it makes more sense to put them over at night when the traffics quieter ? And before it closed the signs on the gantry a brought you down to thirty mph to cross it when you where stopping and starting crossing it for no reason ? But while it was closed they managed to extend the 40mph cameras on the north side and install them on the south side , the bridge itself maybe should be made a landscape Scotland should be proud of but the management have proved time and again there a joke
Nial
I've just had a chance to watch that. It's mind boggling that they can move so much stuff about!
