hodge911
just sitting here pondering ...........I fancy a couple of CHEAP knackered shotguns to use as wall decorations so as I don't know how to go about this can the PW massive shine some light please ....is it as simple as finding some unusable guns and blocking up the barrels and removing the firing pins or do I have to have them professionally done ? secondly how do you stand with them license wise . my train of thought being that wabbitbosher sells many a cheap gun
walshie
Guns have to be deactivated to certain specifications and you have to have a deactivation certificate from a proof house, so unless you know exactly what you are doing, getting it professionally done is the best bet. Once it's been deactivated and you have the certificate, you don;t need a SGC to have it.
Bleeh
Unless they are antique or an obscure calibre, of course.
rimfire4969
Wabbitbosher is the man I had a nice English hammer gun to stick above my fire place from him. He normally has a few suitable guns about the place.
Chris Bb
Google "Deactivation of firearms 2010", there's a 40+ page document online telling you what needs to be done. You can do it yourself, legally, but can't sell it or give it away without a proof house certificate. I'm not certain if you can strike it off your SGC without the proof house certificate. I had one done by a gunsmith and PHC issued for about £100 but prices vary wildly.
Feltwad
Buy yourself a couple of original muzzle loaders that are past their best ,you do not need a licence and they could be cheaper than a deact Feltwad
