Pigeons on the rape

The forecast was for 40/50 mph westerly wind yesterday afternoon so I had a spot I mind that had a few on during the week, I set up for 12 just as the wind was picking up and a high hedge behind helped keep a lot of the wind off me, the pigeons headed for the area In front of the hedge to feed out of the wind and the birds were in flocks of 30/50 but the second shot was proving difficult as a wing tipped and they were 50/60 yards away so I pulled the deeks into about 15 yards to give me a chance of a double, not a big bag with 25 shot and 23 picked but I enjoyed the shooting and I am now looking forward to steak and pigeon casserole

Hi Mike, Philip will not allow me any guests on unfortunately, I have asked.

I used to have a couple of farms like that but after a while they realised if they wanted me they got my shooting partners as well

now they are happy they know and trust them all and don't mind, but i always let them know to make sure they can come if i cannot make it.. :good:
