Axe
The Forums useful links have been around for a little while now but I am aware that some members do not know we have such a section. This poll is a fact finding mission to see if we could improve them somehow. Thanks in advance. Forum Useful Lnks Edit: For those that do not know where they are, they can be found pinned at the top of the Welcome section. Or by clicking the link above. Forum Useful Lnks I think the links section is very helpful and would like to thank Axe (and anybody else) for all the time they spent compiling the section. JohnGalway
I use them every so often. Time and effort went into compiling and posting them (was happening in my early days here) so I think they're a worthwhile and valuable part of the site. People don't look that's why they don't know
Axe
It seems that a few people struggle to find it. Has anyone got any suggestions on how we might be able to make it more 'findable' particularly those that answered no. Thanks for the positive responses. How about for new members as they sign up send them a welcome PM containing info including the stickies on forum links, airgun quarry etc. As for existing members, hopefully this very thread should help the problem? I voted no but meant yes sorry Have used it before once was looking for something and came across it very good ......but forgot about it how about putting a link for it and the chatroom thing(if its still going) along the header that way people dont have to go looking for it its just there OR would it be possible to save the list as a bookmark folder if you know what i mean one for IE and one for Firefox where people can save the list to they're comp EDIT How silly of me the tought just occured to me that i could get off my lazy **** and find out myself sorry folks will reportback EDIT EDIT Is surely is possible i can create a folder called pigeon watch and then add all the links into a sub folder. Seems like alot of work though i think its just as easy to bookmark the page.
Axe
I voted no but meant yes sorry Vote changed. Some good responses. I think it is written in the rules when you sign up that you are encouraged to read the pinned topics. I like the idea of having a separate link. BTMS
Axe, With all due respect (you all have an unthanked task), but having useful links and only promoting the ones or having a poll to mention them without mentioning unsponsored sights is a bit unfair, shall we call it. Again all due respect to your PM it was honest and clear. YIS Brian
Dunkield
Axe, I use them from time to time, if I am looking for something and I am on a PC that doesn't have all my favourites on As for new starters, maybe some kind of welcome email to them with the stickies and an overview about searching for post before starting new ones etc (if that doesn't already happen of course)
Axe
We do invite any member to forward a link for concideration for addition to the links. Some links unfortunately do clash with the current terms & conditions of the forums sponsorship and therefere can not be posted. Stuart that is a good idea, I will find out what is actually on the welcome email.
