Another fox for the welsh contingent

It appears that between Eccles and Foosa there was some good welsh fox shooting going on last night. As I suspected such things I headed out myself. Unfortunately it appears that my sofa isnt as comfy as others

Went down to the first farm which is a newish permission and a chicken farm. I have not had any luck yet so was hoping for a bit of better luck. Stopped at the farm gate and called for a bit, a pickup then appeared wondering what was going on. The lad I shoot for hadnt told his relative who lives at the farm I was coming. Headed off down to the other end of the farm and out onto one of the fields to be greeted with a flash of eyes. Over to NV, lay down to take the shot and the fox had moved enough to be skylined. Put the caller on and off he went...away from me. I waited a couple of minutes and headed off after him. Got to the field where he had gone and caught another glimpse of eye shine, lay down for the shot, NV on, fox paused , 80 grain soft point away, dead fox...simple. Not a challenging shot at about 75 yards but the result is the same.

Off up to another farm, no joy, then up to my mates for a coffee. Got there, quick scan woth the lamp...flippin fox about 40 yards away. By the time I had got the rifle the fox was long gone never to be seen again.

That will be me for a couple of weeks as I am working away again.

Rifle is a Howa 1500 in .243 with a N750A NV scope.

Thanks for reading
