whats this nv unit worth ?

Its an ex military unit with a gen2+ tube, I'm told its possibly an early an-pvs4 and was primarily designed for snipers and shoulder launched anti tank missiles. It works just as well in very low light conditions as its got a whopping 89mm objective but its big and heavy and totally over the top on my air rifle and i dont have a fac so its pretty much sitting dormant . I am seriously thinking about selling it and getting a more lightweight scope mounted unit. It would be ideal mounted on a centerfire for foxing something like a .50cal

so has anybody got an idea of value ?

the church / abbey is about 3k away and the main treeline is 600yards, the pic doesn't really do the scope justice but its the best one of about 40 i took, its a real ****** trying to focus the scope and camera and then hold them still to take the pic with out blurring.

I'm guessing its around 30 years old, Its been in the family for around 25 but during that time it never worked. I started to check the electrical connections and found a short on the ret so once fixed it fired straight up, at the time i took the details from the tube and found out all i know about it that's why i seem to think its an early an-pvs4 or Belgium Oldelft with a gen 2+tube (same tube serial numbers) I've given it about 4 hours work mainly watching badgers as its not really suitable on my solo. As to the amount of use its had before that I've no idea but I'm guessing its almost none due to the silly fault it had on the ret. Then the smaller NV units got introduced so this old relic and others like it get replace for the later lighter stuff. Everyone I've spoke to about it says the quality of the optics is better than the modern units its just that its size is against it and can place it on par with the British kite sight. There are 2 focus rings on it and you can focus in on your feet to infinity.

I would suggest if it is that old that it possibly isn't a Gen 2+ tube? I know nothing about NV but a Gen 1 with a objective that big would likely produce the image you have photo'd. My Gen 1 used to give images like that with illumination and in your photo you can see what looks like a street lamp on the right which could be illuminating it.

But like tracker has said, it is worth what someone will pay
