old man
Not going to repeat, you will probably wish you had not done anything other than trap and air rifle? Trees are not safe backstops even on your own land.
Glenlivet
Looks like general consensus is to trap. Better do some reading on the subject. Thanks guys.
Glenlivet
No 3 garden guns are not that quiet they are less loud than a .410 but still an audible nang you can tell its a gun going off at more than 50 yards, round your own place / farm etc maybe, but neighbours 50 yards away and not realy up to much in range. Juist stick to the traps and air rifle. What air rifle have you got anyway? From what I can see it's a Weslake or Westlake .22 made in China (what isn't?). GingerCat
No wonder you are struggling to hit them. Get a second hand hw95/99/97/90/80/98 or even a hw35 or a trusty bsa meteor (or in fact any bsa/hw/airarms/diana that's fits your budget) and you won't look back. I am very interested in what the actual range of a garden gun is though as I quite fancy one.

Hendrix's rifle
Where abouts are you? And what's behind the trees? If its fields might be worth finding out who owns them and having a chat? Edited March 5, 2016 by Hendrix's rifle
ChrisAsh
Do you have shooting rights over the wood area if not then might be best to ask and then you can shoot inside the wood or back garden with no real problem if next door complain, especially if you do it when they are out Maybe a catapult would be better than a garden gun as more range and better killing power if you can use it Edited March 6, 2016 by ChrisAsh
TONY R
From what I can see it's a Weslake or Westlake .22 made in China (what isn't?). Cheap and nasty but they work ok should be well good enough for squirels.
Harry136
I would recommend placing a bait post closer and using a .410 hushpower with subsonic ammo.

The fields are grazing, not much life there although some occasionally has a go for rabbits during the summer. Pity they don't maintain the trees better, one of these days I'm expecting one of them to fall on the house.
