Dave-G
Here is my new KwikFit Add-On NV rig. WARNING: If a low cost build with some delicate bits fitted around a rifle appeals to you, nothing wrong with your choice - but click away now because this rugged higher parts investment twin module rig is probably not for you.. How quick was that to add a complete ready to use NV that includes the illuminator fitted and reliably aimed straight ahead? Its stand apart feature is a very solidly mounted and well aimed integrated T50 Black Sun illuminator that by default will point virtually dead ahead. However, just as scopes need zeroing, the supplied IR torch weaver mount MIGHT need to be fine tuned with shims to aim the torch exactly just above centre screen of the 5" 800x480 monitor - which has a brightness control, for your specific rifle. Once the zero has been set, future use is repeatable and doesn't have the torch flop down or sideways every time you move the rifle. The rig takes 3 FLAT TOP 18650 batteries - not supplied. If something happens to any of them its very easy to change without losing use of the rig for a few days while a pack would be repaired - and I don't get sued if one goes bang. I use 'free' cells from recovered laptop battery packs. They are easily fitted and changed in seconds without any tools as seen in this video: The 'base' of the battery/monitor box is laminated with a second layer of ABS sheet solvent welded inside it before the torch body is clamped through it to make for a seriously sturdy module fixing that's not going to flop around or snap any mounting legs if the rifle rig is rested on it - or even picked up by it. The KPC E700 camera is located in the rear part of my unique and original design 4 jaw Collet Chuck DSA which comes with a collet. It will fit scope eye bell diameters from a maximum 45mm down to a minimum diameter of 41MM. Once set up to suit a specific eye bell it only needs about half a turn of the screw cap to lock in place, and the clamping forces of collet chucks are phenomenal. Point to note - if used with a centrefire rifle medium or high mounts are likely to be necessary to avoid the bolt lever fouling the screw cap of the DSA. See the last photo. A single trailing cable passes between the two modules with in line slip together connectors. If the cable gets snagged the connectors 'go with' the snag and separate rather than break a plug and ruin your nights shooting at best - or need returning for repair at worst resulting in several days loss of use. I have deliberately made it long enough to fit longer scopes and the slack can be taken up by wrapping it once around the scope so it doesn't cause any hindrance. More details may be added later. Any item I produce is sold with three months warranty against failure and I prefer people to buy on a sales thread rather than via PM so the date and spec is there for us both to refer back too. is £270 + £10 RMSD. Dave-G
Thanks oowee. A member on here has PM'd that he wants one - so it may be sold but he's offline. If said member comes on again could he post on here that he wants it for me please. I usually only make one of anything at a time and am currently waiting for more Black Sun IR's. pete52
Could you Please tell me what range I could see with this add on looking to put it on a A.G.S. scope it is a 8-32x56. Thanks Pete. ps is paypal ok for payment
Dave-G
I beleive this one is sold to oowee - I didn't want to put him on the spot this morning. The rig is good for about three hundred yards recognition and maybe 500 for fox eye shine at full power illuminator setting with a good NV rated scope. Those Black Sun illuminators are really good. Fixed pa scopes can sometimes be used with a minimal depth of focus depending on its parallax setting. In fact one aspect that lends itself to the restricted potential of a fixed PA scope is that when in focus you are close enough to the range that it's parallaxed at (you need to check that at night under the lamp because IR focuses closer than day wavelengths) Range guesswork is harder with night vision. A side focus scope makes life so much easier with a sharper image potential at any range you need to use it at.
Dave-G
Could you Please tell me what range I could see with this add on looking to put it on a A.G.S. scope it is a 8-32x56. Thanks Pete. ps is paypal ok for payment PP is fine. It needs an eyebell without an illuminated retical module or lumps like the mtc scopes. Dave-G
That will be great Thanks I went through my costings last night and found I had not accounted for the 5" monitor. I'll take some of the hit on that but it will have to add £10 to the cost of the units making them £280 + £10 RMSD. As you have already asked for one I will honour the price you ordered it at. Dave-G
Got my set up today Dave Thanks well Pleased with it. Just cant wait till tonight. Thanks Pete. Sorry Pete, dunno how I missed this, Hope the night went well. I forgot to refer to another aspect that was built into the Camera carrier (DSA) Some experienced NV users will have had to keep dropping some other types of DSA on and off between minor adjustments of the ocular adjustment wheel until they have focused the retical to its sharpest potential. Prior to clamping my Collet Chuck DSA up tight, push it forwards against the ocular adjuster wheel with the optics part of the rig turned on and rotate it while watching the retical sharpness on the monitor. When its to your satisfaction clamp the DSA tight. This video probably makes things clearer: Edited April 4, 2016 by Dave-G

Dave-G
It has become apparent that the user supply 18650 batteries - which can slightly vary in diameter and length that affects how tightly they are gripped in their friction fit holders can shock loose, causing the screen to restart with heavy recoil. For that reason I feel these are best used for rimfire or PCP air rifle only - EDIT: and will be supplied with the standard Chinese AS IR pill as standard at £270 + £10. RMSD. A Black Sun IR pill can be fitted when available as an optional extra at £290 + £10 RMSD. Edited November 17, 2016 by Dave-G
