Midcounties blacking fantastic amazing that's all I can say. Look at my post re 17 remmington

Just a got in and noticed your a fair way off, if the part is not a Firearm classed part ie barrel bolt or action then I think you could post.

But there work is absolutely top notch stuff.

I for one can fully recommend Bromley & Son. Dan Bromley is a great guy to deal with and they do excellent work at very reasonable prices.

Just could not believe my barrels that I picked up were the same as those I took to him. Sorted dents out and reblacked, no problem and obviously passionate about what they do.

Thank you very much for your recommendation Chris. I hope you are well and the Woodward is still serving you well.

All the best.

Dan

Hi Dan,

I`m very well thanks and trust that you are also.

The old Woodward still needs a bit of restoration work doing to the stock and fore-end and is very slightly loose on the face but for a gun that is now 138 years old is still in pretty good condition and now the barrels have been reblacked (steel on Damascus, as you recall) is looking good and still has many years life left.

I hope to get this work done shortly so that the old girl can be used on occasion. It has a wonderful provenance and would be sacrilege for it not to be used again.

I very carefully removed the locks and they are in pristine condition and made by Joseph Brazier who I understand made locks for many gunmakers. They truly are a fine example of the lockmakers art.

I`ll let you know how it is progressing,

Kind Regards,

Chris
