22lr cci blazer

Recommended Posts

im currently using cci mini mags which are pretty good and work well in my 10/22 but i need to get some normal lead nose rounds for target shooting as one of the clubs im member off dont like you using copper plated rounds so i need some normal lead round nose rounds that work well in a semi auto i hear cci blazers are good so any one no a rough price for a box of 100 or 500 rounds or any other suggestions what a the cci standers like are they better than the blazers do they work well in a semi auto as what i planing to do from on is buy 500 cci mini mags and 500 cci blazers or standers.

I think your club member needs to think again. CCI and all rim fire bullets are lead. The fact they look like copper is wrong - they are copper washed. Just use your fingernail to dig into the bullet and you will see. The copper wash acts as a lubricant. The only reason for not using them is lead recovery for personal remelting and bullet manufacture as this may effect the hardness (I have no idea how though as this is the first time I've even thought about it)

The bullets cannot be considered jacketed!

yes i no subs are better suited for the perpose of target shooting but i need to use a round that will cyle a 10/22 i hear that semi autos can have issuse with subs

Regardless of any copper coating on any .22lr there are plenty of lead only cartridges, some of these are only marginally HV whilst others creep over a fair bit, many are also designed for target work.

A 10/22 is not most people first choice of a target .22, but there are plenty of subs that cycle a 10/22 well.

This works well in my semi and BA and gives decent results on target work, but it is HV, but not very HV.
