Jpcurling
Anyone make there own slip lead for there dog? Anyone got any good links on how to make them? And where you can buy good rope and rubber stoppers from?
Konnie
Rubber washers can be found in a local diy store, I think they are large tap type washes.
rovercoupe
Depends what thickness of rope you want but you can get climbing rope by the meter, http://www.theleedswallshop.co.uk/cord-rope-and-tape-by-the-meter-110-c.asp
spandit
I've made a few out of paracord or starter cord. Finding suitable rope to splice has proved tricky but I used Turk's head knots instead of rubber stoppers. I put swivels in mine as my dog used to turn round every time he was told to heel... figgy
Spandit I've had rope burns on my wrist off my dog spinning around as a pup and young dog. Good idea to use swivels,I found a stern word and my right foot swinging past his face stopped it from becoming a lifelong habit. spandit
Now we have 2 dogs it isn't really an issue as the cocker lags behind like he's on his last legs (which he isn't, especially as one of his legs is almost brand new and cost £3,000!). Once off the lead he'll tear about like anything...
