Guest
Subscribed to this magazine 6 months ago. Should have recieved a free gift with subscription. Nearly 6 months later no gift. It's been so long that the free gift has actually changed several times to something I don't even want! Subscription people can't help as they only administrate the subscription, and magazine don't care. Seem to think they don't have to look after their customers. Anyone else had better experience with this bunch of scumbags?
Scully
I've been subscribing to an art magazine since it was first published in the early 1980's, and as such it is delivered to my door. I often see it on shelves in newsagents with a free gift stuck to the front or a supplement in a plastic bag. I always get the supplement but have never received a free gift, but there gain I'm not bothered. Two mates have both complained at game fairs to the publishers of magazines they subscribe to about why do new subscribers get offers of free knives etc yet they get nothing having been subscribers for years. All they have received is complimentary tickets to the publishers members enclosure.
figgy
Cancel your subscription untill you see an free gift offer you want. Can't remember the peice of rubbish I got when I first subscribed, cancelled years ago after I got to the point of not reading it anymore when it was delivered due to the same old same old rehashed diatribe. browning123
In the 80's I was lucky enough to shoot a right and left at Woodcock witnessed by two witnesses - this entitles you to become a member of the Shooting Times Woodcock Club. Once your membership application is accepted you will receive a certificate, six months subscription to the magazine, a club tie, badge, bottle of J&B Whiskey and a annual invite to the Woodcock Club's Dinner. I never received the whisky, six month subscription, or the invite to the annual dinner. After numerous phone calls and letters to the Shooting Times I got know-where despite promises - I eventually gave up!

kaunda
It is a poor effort nowadays, even the fonts have got smaller making it harder to read for those of us with advancing years, but that frees up space and allows them to put in more adverts and bring in more.I also object to the ' fee gifts ',for what they are worth, being (hopefully) handed out to new subscribers.I, and many others have been loyally and punctually subscribing since Christ left Dumbarton and the little we get back has been thrashed out time and again in these posts.I suppose we could always cancel but you know the Brits,b.......s for punishment and we like a good moan. Guest
Tbh, they're a waste of money aren't they? A few pages of generic twaddle and 'reviews' that are really just adverts. ****.
ShootingEgg
They use a free gift to lure you into subscribing, once your paying they have no need to soften you up with a gift. And if you go into the newsagents( do they still exist?!?!) then you arent subscribed necessarily so the gift again lures you to buy.
