postie
Im shooting. a lot of skeet at the moment, best practice is to shoot reg shoots and get the experience Of squads/diffrent people, waiting between rounds different pressures /all about enjoying Skeet is tuff going and sometimes you have to dig deep for those extra clays I would have taken 2 95s in the Welsh QUALS 2weeks ago that's good going for someone just starting out keep at it good luck
buze
Just shoot over 600 shots over the last two days on the skeet range, by myself, doing dumb repetition.. I think once you reach you already excellent level (that I'm nowhere near.. yet) it becomes a lot harder to improve... if the ones you missed are always the same, keep practicing these until you are numb, and then shoot another two boxes at them! I found out that I get better by 'notches' and very often at the edge of tiredness, before performance seriously decreases... mind you I still have quite a few notches left on the peg
kingo15
Do you want to shoot for me on Friday in c class. Very very good score but you will need to find those last few as at that higher level you need to be bang on everytime

bunnykiller
Go along to any registered shoot up your way and you will be rubbing shoulders with the majority of the Scottish squad.

claytav
hi HAMISH, I know where you are coming from, when you go on reg shoots the scores may go down slightly for a while, handling self pressure is another ball game, get out there and shoot the regs and get used to it, but its hard work. Gee.
Hi Hamish, If you shoot at Morton then ask Paul Nelson to give you some tips. He is a very good skeet shot! Agree with Postie (Postie who? sorry Dylan, couldn't resist ) Best lessons are the ones you will learn from shooting with others, same as everything in life....there is always someone better than you. The Todd Bender dvd's are worth a watch to give you the basic fundamentals which you can then tweak to suit your style. If you're posting scores like that in practise (93 is an A class score), hopefully you won't be too far away under competition pressure. Scores will drop in a competition but once you become accustomed to it then things will improve gradually. Dont beat yourself up as it takes time. The trick with skeet is the mental side of the game, as the target presentations themselves are easy, you have hit them all hundreds of times before..... but hitting them all in a row is the hard bit.
