Hi all,

 

Potentially silly question

 

My hw mod on my air rifle is causing accuracy issues as the pellets are clipping it

 

I have a mod for my 22 rim fire, can I used that on a 22 air rifle as well?

Is the mod clipping because the half UNF thread on the barrel is not properly done?

Drill the hole in the mod a bit bigger, it's not hard to do then it won't clip and still work as a mod.

i think the key question here is why is it clipping?

As above. The HW moderator is one of the best for air rifles so worth having a look inside first - if the male threaded barrel adapter isn't the problem, that is.

 

Unscrew the end of the mod with an hex key and remove the internals. there should be a cut-down hair roller wrapped in felt, a washer, another hair roller, washer and final roller. Sometimes the internal washers are replaced with different ones with a smaller diameter so may be worth checking them or for bits of broken plastic etc that are getting in the way.

It's just a hex key, nothing simpler!

as said easy to strip, an have a good look to see if it is clean (i.e. no ally shavings from dirty pellets) i have seen this an i also think the shavings can clip a pellet (air turbulence)
