Smiler23
Hia fellas , any of you lads replaced your recoil springs with one of these? Are they as good as they make out,? or just a gimmick? Cheers
malantone
I replaced the spring in an old HW35 with an ox mainspring this spring being square in section gives you nearly twice the metal as a round section spring. I found it awesome but I never had it chronoed and suspect it was probably over 12ft/lb be careful.

I think he is talking about a recoil spring for a semi auto

Smokersmith
I've a sure cycle an SX3 .... closes real quick and won't rust ... 5 years in and no issues.
panoma1
I think for a foreshore S/A the stainless steel sure cycle is a good plan......saltwater and ordinary steel, especially where you can't see it rusting! do not mix
a303
I use stainless steel recoil Spring tubes on my SX1. They don't need it, just nice to have on.
TONY R
The bolt springs in some guns can be a bit critical on how the gun cycles not on all guns but some, Remington 1100s are a bit fussy about a decent bolt spring, and SBEs are very spring and dirty back tube sensitive, if the spring gets a bit weakened over time or through oxidisation etc they can get fussy or if they gunk up in the back tube thats another potential jam. I fit a wolf 25% extra spring in the SBEs and have one in my Grizzly too never a problem if you do this and keep it cleanish in the back tube. Smiler23
Yes it was for semi auto shotgun, my guns recoil springs are 25 years old I think(unless previous owner changed them) they do look a bit tired tho, going to change them so instead of opting for like for like, iv ordered the sure cycle now, as someone said its a dirty job on the foreshore and I read that recoil spring could be one of main causes of a jam, so anything to help that not happen is a hood thing to me.
