psycho
Last week I got a A400 xplor unico without kick-off my first semiautomatic. After acquiring looked on you tube .found strip diagram, oiled greased cleaned polished and waxed the stock. After watching the video its a very easy gun, to take apart strip and clean Last night went out with my shiny gun over my shoulder as it has holes for adding a quick release strap.(bonus) The gun seems to weigh nothing compared to my b725.. I had previously gone to the local gun dealers to get some 52 grams (1 7/8 oz) cartridge's and a bag full of mixed others at 28-32 grams .. I was all set I went straight in and when I fired one of these 50+ cartridges, there was less recoil than firing a 28 grain from my B725. After a few shots I found the firing felt strange as the gun cycles as soon as you fire, continuing to work after you fire the gun loading in the next cartridge. you soon get used to it.the speed that is amazing and the smooth ness for the cycle.my Mossberg pump is a tractor compared to this gun. the gun carries and holds well in the hand, better than my B725 with it being lighter and very comfortable no bulk what so ever .the front stock holds well with its chequering giving a firm non slip hold .the fit dare I say is purfect after adjusting the shims to 65 and adding a half inch spacer to the stock. This is easy to do requiring a 13mm socket, a screwdriver and again a YouTube video. This easy adjustment using a few shimsneeds adding to other guns. Getting home after firing 100 cartridge's and adjusting the shims and getting a couple of flying pigeons. I found the cleaning to be a doddle with very little fouling and a single barrel to clean..the only downside compared to an over under is searching for the spent cartridge's. Comparing this gun with my others is chalk and cheese .all I can say to myself is welcome to the twenty first century... The A400 is superb and had I known how good this semi is I would have bought one years ago.its nice to look at with its fake grain wood. Its all day carry.its shoots superbly, with no noticeable recoil (non kick model) its easy to clean and I can't see my other shotguns being used in the near future. A highly recommend shotgun.the Beretta a400 xplor unico once fired you will wonder how you managed without one it is a gem of a rifle that was totally unknown to me. I had never heard or thought of one before last week when I was offered it in a deal Edited June 19, 2016 by psycho
WinchesterDave
What a great write up!👍 Thanks for posting and it's great to hear such good feed back from a first time semi owner! Semis are great guns and when used in the right time and place you can't beat them! Atb, Dave:)
Whitebridges
I don't know about "unknown gem" Tried the A400 Lite and didn't really get on with it, too whippy for me. Traded it for an A400 Extreme which is superb. No ejection issues/ problems whatsoever. Very steady on the shot. Shoots everything i've put through it. Great S/A in my opinion. browning123
I have a beretta a400 Xplor lite without kick-off and love the gun, very little recoil, well balanced and cycles any cartridge. Purchased it second hand three years ago when it was two years old and have had no problems with the gun.

Is the only shotgun left in my cabinet, no point in having anything else as is never going to get used.

oowee
Love the Beretta semi auto its my gun for everything except... Pheasant (I like having the gun broken on my arm) and in low light in the evening (shells are to hard to find). I only clean mine very occasionally and it will easily handle a 1000 shells before it starts to slow. One thing to watch for is water in the magazine tube rusting the spring or in the bolt return inside the stock.
