Browning B325 forend

Hi all....I am looking for a replacement forend for my Browning B325, maybe someone has one lurking around? Having searched over several weeks with, unfortunately no luck, I have attached a photo of the present forearm to illustrate the wood quality. The existing forearm has developed a couple of splits and whilst this is repairable would prefer to replace with a solid version. Tried a number of gunsmiths but none available in stock.post-77915-0-82353500-1466968703_thumb.jpegpost-77915-0-18028300-1466968784_thumb.jpeg

I made enquiries about getting one to replace the cracked forend on my 325 grade 5.

£350 quoted from Browning, via my gunsmith, plus fitting. No choice of wood so doubtful if it would match colour or grain.

I got the crack repaired and hardly noticeable and never moved.

I was told by the gunsmith that it is not uncommon for cracks where they are machined very thin for the ejector kickers.

There is a lad in Norfolk who advertises in the Sporting Gun. He has these, plus stocks.

Yeah I understood that it's a pretty common acurance for a split(s) to appear, my local gunsmith wasn't really interested in doing the repair but explained how to repair it etc which I had already referenced from searching on the subject, although the gunsmith said it could last a week or ten years if it was done.

Thanks, yeah I was told similar re buying/sourcing a brand new forend from Browning, dissappointing since the wood/grain quality of the the stock and forend are really attractive (minus the splits of course) it's a Grade 1 Sporter but reckon that the day this gun was put together that they ran out of the lower grade wood!...mostly the reason that I bought this one

Browning Miroku do tend to split I repair loads for people normally fairly simple and can be Hiden away.

A new forend form BWM would be around £300 mark and no they don't do a gain match offer, I've just tried to order a stock and forend set in grade 5 wood they won't even do a check for that.

Personnaly I'd repair it to have it matching but it's your choice.

Yes annoying to say the least when a pre-formed/shaped piece of wood is costing that sort of money that there isn't, at least a grain sample choice type of thing before actually ordering from Browning. 'Gordon' or posted a response earlier recommending a very knowledgable Bob Kirkham (Downham Market) with whom I had a conversation with an hour or so ago and he expressed a frustration to not knowing what will turn up if you order new and whether it will be a lucky 'match', anyway he has a few (used) forends for the B325 in stock and will be emailing photos over to me to compare. Suffice to say then I will still repair also.
