ditchman Posted July 11, 2016 Author Report Share Posted July 11, 2016 got the u/j's out and clean the yokes well...as the new races are interferance fit.........took the u/j's out the modern way....CUT EM OUT....the damage i have seen on other props and yokes is HORRIFIC,.....people use hammers chisels drifts punches oxy/acety and god knows what... ditchman Posted July 11, 2016 Author Report Share Posted July 11, 2016 take the bearing races off and feed the spider into the yoke....then push fit the bearing races back on by hand as far as they will go.....once the spider is sitting in the races then press the raves / caps together.....when you have done this the spider will feel a bit tight...just "tap" the yoke with a hammer and it will settle itself.....then drop the retaining circlips in...the yoke.......... ditchman Posted July 11, 2016 Author Report Share Posted July 11, 2016 clean yer nuts an' bolts......people larf at me as im always cleaning stuff...........i hate working in a mess........as a result i started this at 10 this morning...and finished at 2.30......aaannnndddd..........i didnt draw blood bang my knuckles all the nuts and bolts were easy to get on.....okay it takes a bit of time cleaning but you save it on the job time in spades....... Got some here that need changing if you get bored ? :lol: done my swivels 3 years ago.........not a bad job as i can do most of the stripping out sitting on a stool.........bit i dont like is cleaning all the old grease and muck out of it....... me clutch has gone/..............well nearly gone......blagged and engine lift off my mate....going to have to do it on my own...........what a %^$£"£$%%........life sucks sometimes....... ditchman Posted July 20, 2016 Author Report Share Posted July 20, 2016 On the rebuild one ? nooooo..............on the one i use everyday........im going to make myself sum guides so it will be easier to mate the engine back into the gearbox............first im waiting to muster up enuf energy to do it....the clutch bighting point is a bit juddery and the thrust bearing is starting to sing when changing gear.........
