Guest cookoff013
most smiths can do opening, what you cant do is go tighter, unless you have thinwall chokes and threads installed.
welshwarrior
No need for threads Teague can fit fixed chokes in to the barrels just had a set done.

welshwarrior
WW......can you give a bit more info on this? Fitting fixed choke into barrels? The choke area is relieved and a new steel thin wall choke installed but not threaded, I believe but to be honest I just send the barrels to Teagues and get back what I ordered for the clients. Did a Purdey for me recently from 1/4 and 3/8 to 5/8 5/8 can hardly tell it's been done and patterned a dream, he killed a lot of grouse with the guns last week as well. panoma1
Thanks WW, very interesting! I was aware of barrel lining but not re-choking, this must be a fairly new innovation? I assume the process requires a reproof? If not fixed by a thread, I further assume they are permanent? P1
TDS
Nothing new...for years the Yanks have been soldering short sleeves into the choke area of barrels to bring back a tighter choke

littlerob
Any choking work or chokes teuage be my first choice just a shame they wouldn't replicate some baikal chokes for me. I offer to send in the original ones then to make copy of them and said I was willing to pay the cost of setting of machine's to do this short run.but was politly turned down.
