Beretta Xtrema

As some of you may remember, I was after a beretta Urika about a month ago but missed out on it. I've now found myself a black Xtrema, not a 2 though I don't think, for £500. I've got it on hold until I can meet the guy. If it's in good condition which he says it is (just been serviced by a dealer), is it a good deal?

Ok, thanks. What's changed on the Xtrema 2? I've heard a lot about this model, watched the video clip etc, and it seems very good. Does the first one still cycle down to 28g like the later model does? I've done a google search on it and found a bit, but most things bring up the later one that's in production now.

The original xtrema will cycle any 12G cartridge from 24g to 66g and probably more besides, I believe the xtrema 2 has a recoil reducer in the stock but to be honest there is so little recoil it isn't worth it.

£500 is a steal if it is good nick, and they will put up with all the abuse you can throw at them, including spending a night under the sea :good:

Now that was a silly thing to do! There's not much kit around that will put up with that sort of treatment! The guy is phoning me later to arrange a meet. He's happy for me to have a go at the local club to make sure it's going to do what I want, but he said he's never had any trouble with 28g loads. He seems like a helpful enough guy, and is keen to make sure it's suitable for me before I buy it. At £500 I'm sure it's not going to be around for long even if I don't take it! After what you just said, I think I'll have it. Bung some swivels on it and use it as a farm gun

It's complete with case and chokes. Hopefully all the kit will still be there then. It sounds well looked after, and from what the guy is saying it's been used to deek pigeons now and again. I don't think it's had heavy use. I really want it now, I'll be off down the bank in a bit :good:

Having owned both the Xtremea and the Xtremea2 there is a vast difference between them. Recoil reducer, thinner better handling gun. But in itself the Xtremea is a great great gun.

The Xtremea for 500 pound sterling is a bargain. Fantasic gun, about 5000 rounds through my one when I had it and never failed to cycle even once (and I am super lazy about cleaning). Took it on many days clay shooting and handled 28 gram loads in its stride.

The brother has put 24 grams through his and again not a single jam.

To sum up can not praise them highly enough (yes i chantged to a benelli but that was an experiment by someone with 2 much money)

Get it if its sound

I bought it! Managed to knock him down a bit on the price too because I took a big fat wad of notes to show him! I shot ok with it, but didn't get chance to change the 3/4 choke before hand. 3/4 for skeet is hard! I was very surprised that it cycled 24g shells, but it didn't jam once. The recoil is non existant, and it's a load smoother than the Escort I fired a few weeks ago. Is it illegal to load 3 up the tube? As the gun is legal on SGC, do I have to use my good judgement and just put 2+1 in? If anyone else is thinking of buying one, do it. It's amazing :good:
