20 bore light load

Recommended Posts

I use at present the following recipe

20/70 Fiocchi 616 1,20 x 26 Z2M19 + one 28 gauge disc inside the cup closed at 60mm which should be on the 680-700 bar and 400-405 m/e in speed

i think it's a bit on the hard side for you as the powder is somewhat more progressive than usual.

Another wee load i used to shoot was:

20/70 Fiocchi 616 1.18 X 25, Gualandi SG21 was 607 Bar and 408 m/s

you could also down the load to

20/67 Fiocchi 615 1.10/1.15 x 24 but i have not tested it and although is on the safe side, given recent changes in powder's burning rate ... i'd give it a go with the proofing barrel first just to make sure is not too exuberant for your shoulder or too soft for the quarry.

If you use a B&P wad and is low on pressure, then you can change it to a Gualandi to gain some (60 bar approx) or viceversa

70/616 1,18x25 sg21 pb10 stell.59,5

Snow, if you pattern both 1.10 & 1.15 with adequate fibre wad you can see which one suits you best and has the better spread

if they're too concentrate you could possibly go 1.20

The problem is that with ever changing burning rate, A1 is one of the most inconsistent powders and some 'empiric test' can help understand your batch and what adjustments you need to make to fit you, your gun, choke, etc.
