Savhmr
Is there such a thing which is effective at reasonable distance (say 100 yds) for fox/deer? By affordable, I really mean "budget"!
Craig83
Nope....as I was explaining to some one the other day. Why skimp on The tools for the job. If a fox gets in and kills 100 birds, on shoot day that's £45 a bird. There you go £4500...then later on in the year a fox kills 6 lambs each with a potential yeild of £100 that's £600. All ready you have £5100 of damage, a high end thermal or night vision is around that. So in the scale of things it's not that bad Edited September 10, 2016 by Craig83
Savhmr
I don't have an issue with fox so can't use that argument to justify the cost unfortunately. Just wondering if anyone has experience of the ones selling around £300 to £400, such as the Seek Thermal Reveal XR and whether they're effective in woodland for deer? Craig83
If you can find a SH Hd38 they should be coming down in price now.

Been out with it twice and have shot 6 foxes, problem round are way is idiots in vehicles lamping them, they are very shy foxes. This kit has solved all our problems as we don't use a vehicle we walk , plus side ...nobody knows we are about! Moles, mice, birds in the hedges, bats flashing by, to be honest it's amazing just how much wildlife is out and about.

You can walk in on them, and keep touch with them. High seat tomorrow night on a huge stubble field , picked a few foxes up with a trail cam ,so moved a high seat in . crossy 666
I have recently brought a Seek Thermal Reveal XR and I broke it after 2 weeks. To say I'm gutted is a understatement 😞

crossy 666
To be onist it was rubbish. I did find a number of foxes I had shot that dropped down in the crop but you had to get with in 15/20 yards for it to be any good. It is ideal for ratting in a building I would say but I never got that far 😞
Mini Magnum
Any of the seek products are absolute garbage for 95% of hunting purposes. Keep saving.
