Loads of rats there aren't there? (and I agree with Snakey used to be loads of puffins, no?)

OK, so the rats won out in the end:

"A partnership of Natural England, the Landmark Trust, the National Trust and RSPB is working together on the Lundy Seabird Recovery Project. This project aims to protect the breeding grounds of the puffins and Manx shearwaters on Lundy. Rats eat the eggs and chicks of burrow-nesting birds. It is believed that, on Lundy, this has pushed the numbers of puffins and Manx shearwaters to the point where they may be lost from the island altogether. In 2001 work began to remove rats from the island, using specially designed bait stations. Monitoring is continuing to assess how the project is progressing"

Flash,

I live a couple of minutes away from the lundy dock, you will have a great time over there, the wild life is out standing, and some great diving as well!

Hope you have a good crossing on the oldenberg, the last time i went, me and the otherhalf were munching bacon sarnies and drinking stella on the way home, while most of the other visitors were heaving over the side!

Hopefully you will avoid the dreaded spider crabs.

After a few hot days they come inshore to breed and wherever you cast off some rocky beaches you can bet your life that you will catch a spider within 30 secs of hitting the bottom. :stupid: Quite a sight though if you don't reel in your mackerel feathers in quick enough so if they scrape the bottom they come up with 5 crabs on, one on each hook. :) :o

Have fun mate. :good:

FM :good:
