super sharp shooter
I don't normally go shooting for the corvids but on on of my permissions they have cut some maize so i thought i would give it a go. I managed to get 3 frozen crows and 3 crow FUD's and set them up on the magnet and a flapper. It didn't take log before they were coming into the decoys. I first found them hard to hit compared to pigeons but after a few shots i seemed to get my eye in and managed to get 22 on the first day. As i had a fairly successful outing i decided to have a second go yesterday and started of in the same place. The wind was much stronger this time and the birds didn't seem to be interested that much so after an hour i decided to move to a different part of the maize field next to a field that had been drilled. This turned out to be the right move and they soon started coming into the decoys and the wind seemed to help. They all came in the same way into the wind and this made for some good shooting. I ended up with 29 blacks 2 magpies and 6 woodies. Edited October 19, 2016 by super sharp shooter
Bluebarrels
Corvid shooting is given second place to pigeons by many on here but they provide some cracking shooting,BB
WelshMike
Nicely done mate. As per the post above I prefer corvid shooting to most other types of shooting.
super sharp shooter
There seems to be more corvids around to shoot so i think i might be doing more in the future. I did find that i had to move up to shot size 5 and half choke and that seemed to bring them down with less pricked birds.

I tend to use 29g/30g 6s which work really well, though I tend to get them in as close as possible before I shoot them. Fortunately my decoying skills make up for my shooting
Cranfield
A nice result, well done. I shoot a lot of corvids and it can take a short while to get your eye in, after shooting pigeons. They are often travelling faster than you think, that set wing glide is not as slow as it looks, you won't miss many in front. With most birds I don't shoot if I can't see their head, with corvids I make that a 100% rule.
