millrace
Tonight @ 10.00,,Not sure if this is just on n.ireland but saw this last nite, its a local series "true north" prob one of the best and most thought provoking things ive watched in ages all about people who chose to leave their body to queens uni to assist in training future doctors....really got me thinking, showed both sides it a very touching and respectful way,,no blood and guts and total respect from the students for the "gift" they have been given...well worth a watch on iplayer if its there you wont be dissapointed and may even make you think about it yourself..... millrace
Didnt think it wd be as its a local series,,you can donate your body for up to 3yrs,the students get you in september and study you all way thru,,really interesting from family point,,you die but they have no where to go to mourn you untill they get you back and tho they said that was really hard some of them are also going to donate as well..... steve_b_wales
There was a program on recently about obesity. A woman from America donated her 17st+ body to science, and it was brought over here to the UK. Interesting to watch how they dissected her to reveal the damage the fat did to her body. Yes the funny thing about it was that the surgeon doing the dissection was on the larger side.

True, but the lady who gave him the 'bit's' to dissect was lovely.
Danger-Mouse
There's a place in the states where they use donated corpses to study in forensic experiments. They call it "The Body Farm", it's in Tennessee.
