R1nut
Depends what it is and if you are going to do it!! Seal kits are cheap, I have had a couple of castings split and that can push the price up!!
Red-dot
On a D2 it is a 2+ hour job due to lack of room and the bottom 10mm bolt being a bit difficult but a 1/4 drive set up helps. Its a doddle on the Defender though. You can re-seal the main body by removing the big circlip but i foolishly renewed mine at £140.

As said, 1/4 drive socket/ratchet with a flexi head makes life sooooo much easier, especially if you have shovels for hands like me. I've done enough now to realise with the right tools and extentions I can get on them with an impact gun and use a spanner for the 2 nipples iirc

Hendrix's rifle
Really? An impact gun on these teeny bolts? It's a little 3 quater drive one, made for little bolts not had a problem with it yet and it isn't overly powerful. Edit- I don't do them up with the impact gun on just remove them with it Edited November 28, 2016 by Hendrix's rifle

four-wheel-drive
I just had to renew the fuel pressure valve on my 2003 Nissan X-Trail 2.2 diesel I was expecting it to cost me about £60 for the parts but it turned out that for some reason the pump in my car has two so that ended up as £148 +£60 to have them put in very hard to get at as they are at the back of the engine next to the bulkhead but god have they improved the performance it goes like a bomb now so worth every penny in the end.
