landy george
I've just picked up a Macnab lowlander. One choke is 1/4 but the other is 1/8 & I'd like a 1/2. Has anybody got any ideas as to what type of choke it takes as i can't find any information any where.
walt1980
Got a feeling the McNabs were made by Rizzini. I think B Rizzini not the E Rizzini to, might worth checking the length of one of those to start with. Try Teagues chokes as a starter. Lovely guns tho, nearly bought one the other week in 20b. button
http://www.guns.gb.com/contents/en-uk/d244_Teague_Chokes_04.html#p2130 You might want to check but I thought it was just the Highlander that was made by Rizzini

Old Boggy
I seem to recall reading that the Lowlander was made by Sabatti and the Highlander by B.Rizzini. The sideplated 20 bore Highlander that I have is definitely by B.Rizzini which is clearly engraved on the action. It's a lovely gun and patterns well with RC Sipe 6s and is an absolute delight to shoot. Just to confuse things, they also made a Highlander Sporter thought to be made by Sabatti. Somewhere amongst my clutter, I have the original glossy brochure on Macnab guns produced by Patrick Keen who imported the Macnab range so will dig this out and it may, or may not, confirm the above. OB That sounds about right from what the gun shop was saying
Old Boggy
It might be worth giving The Cheshire Gunroom a try for the choke/s as they took over a lot of Macnab stock when Patrick Keen (Macnab Ltd) ceased trading. Maybe worth a phone call. OB
