Duckandswing
I regularly course fish and have a range of different tackle handed down from my late father and stuff I've required myself. My eight year old boy has recently shown more interest in joining me, mainly after fishing in the med on holiday. I want to get him a little age suitable starter set for Christmas. Nothing cheap but then nothing too extravagant. Does anybody have any tried and tested recommendations?
martin-till
my Cousin recently started coming with me, he bought he's gear from these. cheap and cheerful but looks ok for a beginner http://www.dragoncarpdirect.com/
Cranfield
I would avoid the kits, they tend to be poor quality. If you know what type of fishing he intends doing, ie float, ledger, I would get round the local tackle shops. There are quality (not expensive) rod and reel deals around at the moment. Best to start him off with something thats going to last and add to it as he progresses and perhaps branches out into other fishing areas.
