bluesj
Ive got an 06, heading for 200k with no real problems a set of springs and shocks plus servicing. I get (or was getting) 27 mpg, 5 mile trip to work plus a bit of towing and some off road. Now doing 10 miles to work and I get 31+ on a trip to work can get 33 on a longer trips without trying . They are no racing car but if your getting to be an old *** like me thats not a problem the higher range models have a good transfer box giving you 2x4h, 4x4h with open center diff so it can be used on the road when towing or if its a bit slippy, 4x4h and 4x4l with locked center diff for off road. you can change from 2x4h to 4x4h and back on the move plus you get a limited slip diff in the back. Other than that there isn't much to say its a pick up so not really car like to drive but the steering is light enough with reasonable feed back the breaks work well the heating makes it warm and the aircon cools it down. I would say they are not as good as a hilux but they are a lot cheaper, they are a lot better and a lot cheaper than a land rover. If mpg is you number one concern

jay404
I have driven a series 5 auto while mine was being serviced Wasn't impressed so glad mines manual I averaged 23 ish whereas in my manual I get 34 easily Because it's only got 5 gears in the auto it was always revving it's nuts off . 70-80mph and it felt like it was all out of puff That's my experience anyway
