Smokersmith
After many years of shooting SX3's, and having bust quite a few gas piston springs I've taken the plunge and sent one to SRM in the US to be sleeved. Upside will be no spring to break, and a cleaner internals. Downside is debatable but could be more recoil. Has anyone on here had it done? figgy
No but I did look into it when I had mine and increased recoil was the only downside. Some prefer it that way as it cycles faster too.
Guest cookoff013
i thought about getting a sx3 years ago. then the issue came up of buying more gas springs. i asked the dealer if they had any returns or waranty issues. it came up there was a few being repaired and it would be wize to keep a few spares.. i then bought a Benelli. while it does recoil more and need more juice to make them run, its been a plesure to run, if there had been better or available gas valves, i would have bought a sx3. had the money and was in the shop just ready to buy,
figgy
I watched a few videos and was going to do my own, plenty others have done so. The Browning Maxus is the same only difference is shape of the holes SX3 has round holes Maxus has oval slotted holes in the valve. Does anyone know if the SX4 has the same valve or a upgraded design you might be able to change to?
Pigeon Shredder.
Maxis I saw being serviced this week had the same valve as my SX3, in fact it all looked like SX3, hmm!

Pigeon Shredder.
The two gas valves One on left same as the one from Maxus that I saw being serviced.
figgy
The one on the left is the SX3 valve One on right is the Maxus valve, both interchange so the gun you saw must have had its valve changed due to the spring breaking in the past. Loki
Hi Pretty sure a thread awhile back picked out Nordic Components? doing a replacement but significantly improved spring(s) for the Maxus - may be worth doing a search......... I noted the post should I need mine replacing. L
figgy
Had a good read today and most if not all of the sellers from a few years ago have stopped selling the springs or the sleeved versions. Seem to be a dealer part now.
