Ricko
Hi, I wonder if anyone could help with this query. My daughter is 17 and has a part time job whilst she is studying for A levels. She's just picked up her wages and she's had income tax deducted, is she eligible to pay income tax whilst studying full time?? Cheers
Medic1281
Not if she's not earnt over her tax free allowance. She may be on an emergency tax code though.
walshie
I wouldn't have thought she would earn enough to pay wages. It's probably emergency tax until she gets a proper tax code.
Davyo
Hi, I wonder if anyone could help with this query. My daughter is 17 and has a part time job whilst she is studying for A levels. She's just picked up her wages and she's had income tax deducted, is she eligible to pay income tax whilst studying full time?? Cheers Check her payslip, it probably on a 1100L Wk1/Mth1 or BR. The employer will of done this if they where unsure she has had any other paye income since 6/4/16. Get her to call tax office and they will issue 1100L cumulative, this will refund her if the employer can operate code before 5/4/17.If not she can claim any overpayments back through the PTA at tax year end. norfolk dumpling
You can probably do this online. Wife and I have messy earnings ie three pensions and three lots of earnings plus I've now got some of her tax allowance, which we manage on-line and it all checks out.
