Red-dot
My October 2005 FBW double cab is currently running like a bird with no limp mode. I am running fuel tank low to remove it for cleaning. The orange fuel level warning light came on 10 miles ago and today the EML came on too and wont go off. Any ideas what to check? saddler
Got the plug in diagnostic unit? That'd narrow down why the EML has come on.
Red-dot
Not as yet. I cleaned EGR to like new and it's working fine and then i blanked it off 4,000m ago. I dont think it is that.

saddler
Seen the OBD2 units on the auction site, dozens available under £10 delivered.
bluesj
Could be low fuel pressure, if it is then the light should reset after a few drive cycles another suspect on a fbw it over boost, again it should rest its self
al4x
I had mine on recently and it was low fuel rail pressure. Blocked diesel filer the culprit, seems the amount of bio diesel in modern diesel can cause problems. Still cheapest fix I've had and the first problem with this truck so not too bad
Red-dot
I suspected the fuel filter was choked so i removed the intercooler and complete filter unit. The inlet side pipe is really tough to blow into and the fuel inside seemed clean. Ordered a WIX replacement i found on Ebay for half price delivered at £6.50 so will fit it today..... al4x
It's the simple thing to check first, mine hesitated slightly when cold the week before the light came on. Since a change it's been good as good again
Red-dot
Fitted new filter and had trouble bleeding back up from the tank so filled filter with fuel and it bled up no problems. Done away with the wire type hose clips that never really seemed tight enough. Cleaned battery terminals and reconnected +&- clamps with new bolts. Intercooler back on and BINGO! 👍👍👍
al4x
It's nice when it's an easy fix blame the modern bio diesel. Mine was only 8k on the filter and the mechanic had mentioned the previous filter looked like it had a build up on
