flyeruk
I'm still very new to rifles and was wondering if I should float the barrel. It's a CZ .17 hmr synthetic 16". If this is a good idea, could somebody let me know how I go about doing this?
zipdog
It should be floated when it left the factory?
SPARKIE
most cz barrels touch the left side of the stock when they leave the factory so check it to see if its over.

If this is a good idea, could somebody let me know how I go about doing this? Get a 5 pound note and put It under the barrel, run it back between the barrel and the stock. If you get it all the way back with no issues your good, if not then check why. If the latter you may want to bed it and free float it

welshwarrior
It's unlikely it's fully free floated most of these plastic stock bend on to the barrel when loaded especially on a bipod. Sand out the barrel channel removing any mattieral that touches the barrel.

Donegalcharlie
The screws that hold the stock on your rifle may be over tightened if your rifle is meant to be free flooring like my 17 hmr th stock then you should be able to fit the fiver up an down with no issues. But you need to know if you stock is meant to be free flooring before you start messing around with it. if your new to rifles it wouldn't be a good job to mess with. If it is meant to be free flooting loosen the screws front an back of the trigger just enough so that your fiver slides up an down just right.. Hope this helps
